The LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Jan. 21 around 5 am in Jena. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies and firefighters from the Jena Fire Department discovered a body inside the burned vehicle.

Authorities immediately contacted the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office to assist in the investigation and secured the area for further examination.

The deceased was identified by the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office as Andre C. McClure, 24 of Jena. While the cause of the fire is believed to be related to a vehicle malfunction, LPSO stated that no signs of foul play were detected at the scene.
