Road overlay work is underway on Louisiana Highway 778 in Jena. The project begins at Cousin’s Feed Store on West Southern Avenue, crosses Louisiana Highway 127 to East Southern Avenue, and ends at Jena Junior High School.

Construction also includes work at the four-way stop, continuing along Highway 778 and concluding at Cary Street.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes this week, particularly avoiding West Southern Avenue, also known as Widows Lane, when possible.

The project is being conducted and funded by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
