BATON ROUGE — The State Bond Commission is scheduled to consider a multi-million tax renewal proposal for LaSalle Parish during its Thursday morning meeting.
The commission will meet at 8 a.m. in Senate Committee Room A-B at the State Capitol to review the parish’s request, which is slated for the Nov. 3, 2026, election ballot.
LaSalle Parish officials are seeking approval for two separate 10.05-mill property tax propositions for the Whitehall Fire District. Both measures would run for 10 years, spanning from 2028 through 2037.
The first proposition would fund the maintenance and operating expenses of the fire district. The second proposition is designated for maintaining and upgrading necessary substations, equipment and insurance.
