Daytime lane closures scheduled along US 165 in LaSalle Parish beginning July 20

Motorists traveling on U.S. Highway 165 in LaSalle Parish should prepare for daytime traffic delays as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) begins a roadway improvement project later this month.

According to DOTD, alternating lane closures will be in effect Monday, July 20, through approximately Wednesday, September 30, 2026, along US 165 from the Grant Parish line to the Caldwell Parish line.

The temporary lane closures will allow crews to complete a moving operation project involving roadway striping and the installation of rumble strips. Work is expected to take place during daylight hours only, with no nighttime work anticipated.

DOTD officials said no detour will be necessary, as traffic will be maintained through alternating lane closures while construction is underway.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for possible delays and use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.
