Jena High School Anatomy and Physiology students recently took their learning beyond the classroom during a visit with the LaSalle Parish Library, where they gained valuable research skills that can support their academic and future educational success.

The students learned how to identify reputable sources, properly cite information and navigate research databases. They were also shown how a library card can provide access to many of those resources from home.

Mrs. Andrea Book and the LaSalle Parish Library hosted the students and provided instruction on tools that can help them conduct reliable research for school assignments and other academic projects.

Jena High School thanked the library and Book for providing students with the opportunity to strengthen their research skills while becoming more familiar with resources available in their own community.

School officials said experiences like the library visit help connect students with community resources that can continue supporting them throughout their education and into the future.
