
The LaSalle Parish Library has released its lineup of community programs and activities scheduled throughout May 2026, offering residents a wide range of educational, creative, and family-friendly events.
The month begins with the Healing Hands Grief Support Group on Tuesday, May 5, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the LaSalle Parish Library. The program provides a supportive environment where residents can meet with a trained support provider and connect with others experiencing loss or grief.
A second session of the Healing Hands Grief Support Group will be held on Tuesday, May 19, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., continuing the library’s effort to provide ongoing emotional support services to the community.
Creative Workshops and Crafting Opportunities
Several hands-on creative programs are scheduled throughout the month:
On Friday, May 8, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., the library will host Diamond Dots Craft Night, a family-friendly event where participants can create diamond art projects. All materials will be provided.
A Beading Workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 12, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., offering instruction in beadwork techniques and opportunities to create custom jewelry.
On Wednesday, May 13, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., the Get It Done Project Group will provide a collaborative space for participants to complete unfinished art or craft projects.
The Creative/Bible Journaling Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., focusing on personal journaling, faith-based reflection, and artistic expression.
The month concludes crafting activities with the Crochet Project Group on Wednesday, May 27, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., where participants can work on crochet projects and receive guidance from experienced crafters.
Book Club and Literary Engagement
The Literary Ladies of LaSalle Book Club will meet on Monday, May 18, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The monthly discussion group provides adult readers with rotating book selections and guided conversations designed to encourage literary engagement and community discussion.
Youth Programming and Summer Kickoff
The library will host the Harvey Rabbit Summer Reading Kickoff on Friday, May 29, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The program features interactive storytelling with the popular character Harvey Rabbit and marks the beginning of the summer reading season for children in the parish.
Community Access and Participation
All events will be held at the LaSalle Parish Library unless otherwise noted. Library officials encourage residents of all ages to participate and take advantage of the free programming offered throughout the month.
