High school students in LaSalle Parish interested in exploring careers in manufacturing and industry have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience this summer through the Central Louisiana Manufacturing Career Camp 2026.
Applications are now being accepted for the three-day camp, which will be held June 15-17 at the Rod Brady Campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) in Jena.
The program is open to students who will be sophomores, juniors, and seniors during the 2026-2027 school year. Camp sessions will run daily from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Organizers say the camp is designed to provide students with an in-depth look at local manufacturing operations and the wide range of career opportunities available throughout Central Louisiana’s growing industrial sector.
The initiative is being presented through a partnership between Central Louisiana Technical Community College and Louisiana Central, with a focus on workforce development and helping students connect classroom learning to real-world careers.
Participants will have opportunities to learn about modern manufacturing processes, industry technology, workforce expectations, and career pathways available in the region. The experience is intended to help students gain valuable insight into one of Louisiana’s most important economic sectors while exploring future education and employment opportunities.
Camp organizers note that enrollment is limited and encourage interested students to begin the application process as soon as possible.
The cost to attend is $100 per student, and scholarship opportunities may be available for eligible participants.
For additional information regarding the camp or scholarship opportunities, interested families may contact Blake Phillips at 318-312-1200 or Michelle Morea at 318-374-0454.
Local leaders say programs such as the Manufacturing Career Camp play an important role in preparing the next generation of skilled workers while introducing students to high-demand careers available right here in Central Louisiana.
