LaSalle High School issues clarification regarding national society of high school scholars invitations

LaSalle High School is providing important information for students and parents regarding invitations some students have recently received from the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).

According to information released by the school, several students have received letters inviting them to join NSHSS, with the correspondence referencing Mrs. Munson as the educator who nominated or recognized them.

School officials want families to understand that these invitations are not affiliated with LaSalle High School, the school’s National Honor Society (NHS) chapter, or Mrs. Munson.

LaSalle High School explained that NSHSS uses publicly available academic information, along with the names of students’ schools and educators, to personalize invitations. However, the organization operates independently and is not connected to the school’s National Honor Society program or any other school-sponsored organization.

The school emphasized that joining NSHSS is a personal family decision. While students may choose to participate in the organization if they wish, membership in NSHSS is separate from and should not be confused with membership in LaSalle High School’s National Honor Society.

Administrators issued the clarification to ensure families have accurate information and understand the distinction between the two organizations.

Parents and students with questions about National Honor Society membership at LaSalle High School are encouraged to contact school officials for additional guidance.
