The Northeast Louisiana Firefighters Association has announced the passing of Olla Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kim Taylor, remembering him as a dedicated firefighter and friend to many throughout the region.

In a statement shared Monday, the association said Chief Taylor had been a dedicated member of the Olla Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was respected by fellow firefighters across LaSalle Parish.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Olla VFD Chief Kim Taylor,” the association said. “Chief Taylor was a friend to all, and a dedicated member of the fire department for many years. He will be missed by all LaSalle Parish FD members.”

Arrangements for Chief John Kim Taylor will be Friday July 31, 2026 at Olla First Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. with the service starting at 3:00 p.m.
