JENA, La. — The Jena High School football program has added new training equipment thanks to a $7,300 donation raised through the Jena Giant Classic golf tournament.

Jena alumni Jesse Hailey and Parker Fink organized the tournament at LGCC, bringing together golfers and sponsors to raise money in support of the Giants football program.

Proceeds from the tournament allowed the program to purchase a Rogers 3-Man Tek Sled, a piece of football training equipment used to help players develop blocking technique, strength and fundamentals.

Jena Giant Athletics thanked Hailey and Fink for the work they put into organizing the fundraiser and supporting their former school.

The program also expressed appreciation to the golfers and sponsors whose participation helped make the Jena Giant Classic a success.

The $7,300 contribution is another example of alumni and community members investing back into Jena athletics and providing current student-athletes with additional resources to develop their skills.
