The LaSalle Tigers battled through all four quarters Friday night but came up just short against Buckeye, falling 27-22 in a closely contested matchup.

LaSalle opened the game strong and held an 8-7 lead after the first quarter. Buckeye responded in the second period and carried a 15-8 advantage into halftime.

The Tigers came roaring back after the break, scoring 14 points in the third quarter to regain the lead at 22-21 heading into the final period. Buckeye answered with the game’s final touchdown in the fourth quarter and held on for the five-point victory.

LaSalle finished the night with 237 yards of total offense, including 159 yards through the air and 78 yards on the ground.

Luke Lasiter completed 10 of 19 passes for 159 yards. He also contributed defensively with six tackles, two tackles for loss and three interceptions.

Wyatt King led the rushing attack with 59 yards and two touchdowns while recording 10 tackles, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery on defense.

In the receiving game, Lane Burnham caught two passes for 77 yards, Alex Richmond recorded five receptions for 39 yards and Jace Corley added two catches for 35 yards. Richmond also finished with 12 tackles on defense.

The loss moved LaSalle to 1-2 on the season, but the Tigers showed resilience by overcoming a halftime deficit and putting themselves in position to win late in the game.
